hey guys buzz here again, i was just wondering, if i purchase a fishfinder like the Fishmark 320 how is it powered if it is not a portable fishfinder? I have never bought one before, and this model looks to be a great model with a great price. I will be using the fishfinder on a 16 foot pontoon boat, which is powered with dual trolling motors in the back (theyre mounted like dual real outboards), would the fishfinder run off of that? HELP IS NEEDED BADLY, thanks alot

You'll need 12vdc power to run it. It's easy to hook up, just make sure you instal a fuse to be safe! If your boat has a fuse block, add a fuse and take your power from there. If not, you can also run a hot lead from the "+" on your battery and tap off of ground for your return.

Buzz, Its really not a good idea to run the fishfinder off the same battery with a trolling motor on it. You can get interference on the graph that makes it unusable. Is there a separate battery for lights, stereo, or the color TV? If there is then connect the graph to that one. If not, try the graph with the present battery and see if you get interference. If you get interference, then you'll need to add another battery to the boat. Radio Shack has a small 12 volt rechargeable battery for about 30$ (?) that would work and its light enough to carry to/from the house.
