Took the bird dogs out bird huntin today and within 100 yards of the truck we find a 50 bird covey. they do the typical 1st flush up hill thing and set hard. so the dogs and i start scaleing the side of the mountain and start finding singles setting hard. this is sort of how it goes, dog points, i flush, bird flies, I shoot and bird continues to fly. we go over the hill following the birds and at the bottom of the hill it just explodes with over 100 more birds. we follow them up the side of the hill where they set, and the cycle continues. I have never shot so bad in my life. the dogs would make a front page of outdoor life type point with the other backing i would flush the bird would fly, i would shoot then 3 more would come out i would shoot some more and all i would have to show for it was some empty brass and 2 pissed off Germans. Tally for the day, 3 birds, 27 empty rounds, a blister on my toe and 5 birds out there with no tail feathers. I SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
your not alone i do my fair share of bird hunting some days I cant hit them either. (you must focus Boatcop son)
