Sheriff Joe believes that illegal means illegal but that is being challenged by Homeland Security which believes it's OK to be in this country "illegally" as long as they don't commit a crime. So Homeland Security is trying to force Sheriff Joe to stop going after those people who are in this country "illegally" but have not committed an additional crime.

That policy by Homeland Security will not protect our borders in my opinion. My hats off to Sheriff Joe. Joe, continue what you are doing.

What upsets me about the whole situation is the voting people of Arizona asked for something to be done about illegals and had a proposition passed. Now politicians are trying to cripple the people in authority that enforce the law. Take notes. Remember who these people are when they are up for re-election or when the people who appointed them are up for re-election.

Joe is the only person I know that is elected and does what he says he will do. Hats off.

I don't get this either. Unlawful entry into the US means you've committed a crime. What is so fricken difficult to understand about that. The next crime could be murder or rape.
I have heard that statement for several LEO in the East valley that if the citizens of the United States of American knew of the crimes that many of these illegal criminals have committed in their home country we would be screaming until our vocal cords ripped out of our throats. Many of these illegals have alread committed rape and murder as well as crimes against children that will turn your stomach.

I sure wish I could pick a felony to commit and not have to pay the price of the crime.

Absolutely without a doubt the entire executive branch of our Gov supports Nappy on this. Change is right, this is a great example of EXACTLY what we're getting.

Well to be honest with you all I'm pretty damn sick of paying for my gas. Maybe we can vote someone into office that will make LEO look the other way for stealing gas. Why not? Isn't it less of an offense than entering a country illegally?

What's sad is Mexican illegal immigrants are the first to feel safe, next are the radical Middle Eastern & South American illegal immigrants that blend in with the Mexicans. Now they'll feel safe even though they have the intent to cuase harm to the real citizens of this country.

Pathetic times. We the sheeple voted these people into office!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another fine example of our government and the failure.

Now if this poor woman would have just gotten the proper medical care...oh the compassion for her is just too much.

County to pay $312,000 to family in settlement
by Amy B Wang - Aug. 6, 2009 12:00 AM
The Arizona Republic

Maricopa County, as part of a settlement approved Wednesday by the Board of Supervisors, will pay $312,000 to the family of a child who suffered permanent injuries during childbirth in May 2003.

Medical staff at Maricopa Medical Center failed to offer Estela Cruz a Caesarean section, despite ultrasound scans that depicted a baby of "enormous size," according to Cruz's notice of claim. As a result, her fourth son, Jose Cruz, was delivered vaginally, causing severe damage to his right shoulder as well as injuries to the mother.

Jose weighed 12 pounds, 1 ounce when he was born, according to the claim.

The medical-malpractice claim was filed against MedPro, the hospital's contracted physicians group. The county operated the medical center at the time.

MedPro and the county settled the case for an undisclosed amount, said Peter Crowley, the county's risk manager. The county's portion was $312,000

Most of my posts concerning this mess has been directed toward the lawmakers of this country. So it's no surprise to me that the lawlessness continues. My question, Is the government an accessory to the crimes that are committed by non-documented persons, because of their lack of border enforcement? If not, who is responsible to the American tax paying citizen for the continuous financial, property, and collateral damage done to us by said persons?

It's also been said many times by several people, "if the government wanted to stop the flow of these people into our country they would, but they don't want it to stop". I agree with that statement. Evidenced by lawmakers handcuffing the only law enforcement agency aggressively enforcing the laws on the books. RIDICULES!
