I never fish jigs and was going to pick some up. What type of jigs do you guys usually fish and do you typically just flip them or do you drag them as well.

Jigs can be fished SO many different ways.

Pitchin' & Flippin' into cover
Crawling on rocks, points, islands
Cast up in coves and on beds
Swim through grass
Vertical jig them along rock faces

They can be fished from 1' to 50'

Just keep in mind what bait the lure is replicating, a Crawfish.

buy some cheap football head jigs w/ 2/0-4/0 hooks, get a bag og yamamoto green pumpkin skirts and some yamamoto fat craws for trailers. then you have a fairly cheap setup that works great. and ya cant go wrong w/green pumpkin.

I BUY MY FOOTBALL JIG HEADS FROM FISHERMANS CHOICE. THERE IN A PLAIN BAG. THIER NOT CHEAP $.70 BUT AFTER LOSING SOME NICE FISH ON CHEAP JIGS. HOOKS. FISHING POWELL YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOUR GOING TO PULL OUT. I'VE BEEN USING CABALES AQUA GLOW SPLIT TAIL GRUB AND YAMAMOTOS GRUBS. THEY ARE KILLERS ON SM. HAVE GOT SOME NICE LM. AT ALAMO ON THE SPLIT TAIL.

I guess I should clarify. The word jig in this situation is ambiguous.

What I was refering to was a weedless skirted jig (Football, Poison Tail) with a trailer. Is designed to replicate a crawfish.

at first yer gonna set the hook on more rocks and tree branches and loose alot of jigs, I wouldnt go out buyin 3-5$ jigs at first. go get 25 3/8 & 25 1/2oz cheapys, if you can find someone to poor em for ya, yer best off.

It means unclear,... like legal jargon in a contract is said to be ambiguous. You can argue that it means differnet things.

So If im reading all the info right I should start with like a yamamoto on a football head jig? I was at sportsmans in mesa this weekend and all the the Fat Bass jigs were really picked over. Does anyone know if liars corner has any jigs that are good out of the package?
