I read a post a while ago about a mechanic that will come to your house. Can anyone recommend someone?

I have a Johnson 175 that he's done very good work with.
I know of 2 impeller jobs that Ken has screwed up, and didnt do what he said he was going to do.

Go with lower unit. Hes on the zone.

why do you need a mechanic to come to your house ?
I ask because its pretty difficult to bring all necessary tools with you and
working out in this heat is just crazy.

if you just need some adjustment or something diagnosed , thats different.

It's nice to have the mechanic show up to your house at a prearranged time for several reasons. These guys have their shop on wheels so it's not a big deal having all the right tools with them. You don't have to spend time emptying your entire boat before you drop it off at a shop across town while it sits outside in the heat waiting to be worked on. It could be sitting in the elements for a week or more. A lot of the shops won't take appointments, you just drop your boat off and they call when it's done.

+1 for Ken
+1 for Lower unit.....sure he couldnt screw up an impeller:bong:

1) so they know where you live and what you have to steal

2) so when something isnt right with the finished repair they can avoid your calls.

3) so they can drop and spill oil all over your garage instead of theirs

so what your saying is you believe that the mobile techs are:

1. thieves

2. never stand behind their work

3. slobs

All this because you think it's hard to travel with a well stocked tool box.....

Very Interesting

Ken has never been in my house and I trust him anyway. He goes through great efforts to clean up beyond the way he found things. Why the paramoia, dude?
I'll call Ken Thanks
