True. I fired a kid who was born here but married a girl from Mexico who was smuggled up illegally. He is living in Mexico with her family and living off unemployment. Guess they send the checks to family here but I thought you had to prove you were looking for a job to collect. I wonder how much money we are sending south in welfare and unemployment checks.
Just how screwd the system is
When the federal government implemented the new statute for residency verification, my company followed it to the letter.
4 months ago, a red flag came up on 2 of my employees. At the same time we were slowing down so we layed them off.
In the last 2 weeks we picked up a little and needed to add a crew for 3 to 4 weeks. We were unable to find qualified manpower. I suggested bringing the 2 afore mentioned guys back under their old documentation. We could work them for 3 weeks, catch up and be done.
Unfortunately that wont work either because BOTH EMPLOYEES HAVE BEEN COLLECTING UNEMPLOYMENT ALL THIS TIME! Because of that, we HAVE TO HAVE NEW DOCUMENTATION.
Long story short. A US company cannot employee someone without all the proper citenzenship documents. BUT OUR GOVERNMENT CAN AND DOES!
What an absolute crock of freafin bullshit!

Yep.. and thats another reason why we are seeing alot of subs buying work right now and taking a loss. I do software interface design for healthcare payer systems and the state government "systems replacement" project I'm working on has some business rule that basically allows: if you're not eligible for benefits, the healthcare provider doesn't get paid.
But if you know how to appeal (and most who are not eligible do know how to appeal - or are coached) all you have to do is check a box that essentially states: My eligibility is none of your business!
Then the state accepts you as 'eligible' and pays your bills!
Try that all you hard-working, tax-paying Americanos.
Ya know, the funny thing is that we in AZ have he "Latino Invasion." - But way far up North East-Ways, the same problem exists - only the invaders are generally East Europeans.
I had a pizza guy deliver to my east coast hotel and he bragged about how he works for cash only, how the "Great America sends me money every month," how "I didnt have to pay for my school and books last year," and a few other not so happy statements - from my tax-paying, American Butt perspective.
So who the fug do y'all think is paying for all this? You, me, our kids, our grandkids, our children's childrens children! That's who!
Same deal, just different color and language....it's all the same though.

One more reason we truly need a government overhaul. They take our money, and do whatever they damn well please with it. Taxation without representation, that was the reason this country/society came to be. Seems we are overdue for real "change". And this is not anything new. Our government has been giving illegals, regardless of which border they came through, benefits that taxpaying citizens would have to "lie" to be eligible for.
Hmmm. I still don't understand why so many states are operating at a deficit???? Makes no sense.:blink:
I guess it's a good thing we're cutting programs like public education for US citizens to help fund health care, food stamps, and schooling for non-American citizens (illegals) here in the US.
