Ok dudes I know those crazy Dems would never go for it, but do you think it could ever happen? I mean some of us are tired of being "law breakers" by having weapons were not supposed to.....what would it take? I think the sport of shooting could generate alot of cash flow for the gov if you wanted to spin it that way.......right now it's a bitch to get the proper licensing...so I say no felons, and fingerprint, background check, and monthly updates of your where abouts, and youy should be able to buy one.....

Nah, everything I have is semi-auto....but I can store stuff on base in the armory if need be...

I took care of my "problem" last year...

its not a pain in the ass to get a class three its pretty damn easy, It just takes 4-8 weeks and right now might take more time due to lots of people are doing it.

Besides if you cant pass a Backround check your not legally able to own ANY weapon. there is really NO background check other than runing your name through a PC to see if you have been convicted of anything, the amount of time it takes is generally because #1 your paper work is wrong #2 theres a huge waiting line and only xxx amount of people doing it. then you have to send a letter to your city law enforcement and which they CAN NOT deny you owning a class three weapon. The also have to give a reaosn on why your denied which is fightable and very easy to fish providing your a good citizen.

People who say its bitch to get a class 3 have never tried it, or have been turned down due to something on there record, or just dont like to wait the normal waiting time.
I been comtiplateing getting one for a silencer I want to make for my 45 and also for a full auto ar-15 lower I want to build.

Dude Im doing right now...alot of red tape.....maybe I'll have it in the next 5 weeks....being in the military actually made it easier because the Feds already have all of my info:biggrin:

Anything GOV is a bitch

I did it in 1998 took less than a week.
I know guys doing it now they are getting it in 6-8 weeks. the problem is paper work if you dont fill it out correctly it sets everything back.

did you hit your city cops yet? have fun I heard thats the slowest part.

Franklin read this ( 1st paragraph)
http://www.cncguns.com/projects/22silencer.html and then goto the ar-15 forums theres more on how the process works

Ya but you also have signed up to let the fed's in you house any time they want......I went thru the whole deal a while back and after seeing what I had to give up in rights I decided it wasn't worth it to me.
yeah its no biggy, they just check the guns or paper work thats it, they do the same thing with a dealer licence on non class three stuff. and they dont do it very often.
They dont go through your house and they call for an appointment in most cases.
the feds I met were really cool they only came to look at the books

Want to really mess with them have a machine shop and have a dealer licence in your house.

If I'm not mistaken, if you have a CCW permit, you have already taken care of a lot of the BS and you are already in the system, so it should be easier to get the class 3.

Does that jive Del?
what does a class 3 let you do....any webistes where I can look it up?
It allows you to own full auto and silencers. Some awesome silencers out there even for an AR15.

A class three is a stamp that allows you to own a regulated (good word)? firearm. every class three rifle, ie full autos, short barreled (under 16" ) rifles silencers etc etc
each weapon you hav to apply for a stamp. they have different prices also.

I think I expained that correctly?

Is the info with game and fish or another agency?
BTW thanks for the info...I never knew that was even an option.
BATF ONLY
goto that link I posted above he has links directly to the parts you need, game and fish has absolutly NOTHING to do with firearms other than say what you can and cannot hunt with.

There is a forum about silencers/supressors but I can't remember how to find it. I was close to buying one a couple of years ago and looked at the tactical firearms place near the Scottsdale Gun Club. That forum had exactly how to apply, all the things you would need to do and the guys were always chatting about how long it took. Or you can just make a quality silencer in your workshop. Kind of a fun project from what I hear. They also talk a lot about full auto and clubs and get togethers.
