Hi all, My motor trailer toter finally broke. I think that's what its called. Supports your motor on the trailer. Anyhow, is it worth replacing? Does everyone use it? Where can I get a new one?
I dont use motor toters for one simple reason if your driving on a dirt road and hit a bump(most fo our city streets also) your boat might raise a little but your engine is mounted to the trailer and wont move at all. this will put stress on your transom.
I got the idea from bill dance about 6 years ago it was on his show.
I use one, but mine has a spring-like material (hard foam) inside it that acts like a shock absorber. Mine came apart also, but I just use it like I always have. The "Y" section by the lower unit still fits inside the channel bar and butts up against the spring-like material to act like a shock absorber. There are other versions that connect to the motor bracket differently that might be worth looking into.
