Why would anyone care what Tarkenton says anyhow? He's just jealous that his career wasnt as good as Bretts! There are alot of opinions but the only ones that matter is the coaches and the owners. Childress thinks that Favre will get them further than the other two QB's he has then so be it. Time will tell.

I agree w/ FT..."If he wants to play, then play...but don't play games." It is possible to be a great athlete and a jackass at the same time.
Tarkenton was way better than Farve....any QB in the 70's to me is better because back then the didn't have pussy no hitting the QB rules...those were some tough QB's....Bradshaw, Tark, Unitas, are all Legends....only thing that comes close is Elway, or Marino....Why would anyone care what Tarkenton says anyhow? Brett can still play and he is a step up for Vikings. All tark is stating is, Brett either retire or just state you want to still play. Quit playing games.
QB's today have more protection from the rules. Soon they will have flags, Hell they just put the Brady rule into effect this year.
Brett should have all the records he has played for 18yrs(that is a great accomplishment)

FT was good in his time and was fun to watch, no doubt. The original scrambler. To compare the two? Different era's, rules and amount of games. The Vikings hired Favre, who's to question. Any one of us would take the 12 mil and give it a shot. In my opinion, Favre would be an idiot to walk away from guaranteed cash. As far as his integrity, well that's the way of the world now, very few people cannot be bought. I personally think Favre is like Shaq and has turned his career into a 3 ring circus, but the market still buys into them. Like Texas said, "Time will tell."
Not really, He was drafted in 1991 to the Falcons... He then was sent to GB in 92 so really it's only been 17yrs! :biggrin:Brett should have all the records he has played for 18yrs
And here's another stat. He didnt get to start until the 2nd game of 92 when the starting QB got hurt. Brett has started and played in every game in his career. This guy gets hurt and plays so franklin you saying the QB's arent tough anymore just doesnt fly. I dont care if he was taking shots to reduce pain he still played!
