R61---I googled (canine arthritis )and a wealth of advice came up. Check it out-one that I read said not to give any over- the- counter pain meds, without consulting a Vet.

http://www.recoverysa.com/prevention_pet_poisoning.htm READ tip # 5 about not giving ibuprofen to your dog!!!!!
Try a table spoon of cod liver oil in her food. A old guy who raised bird dogs told me to try it on my golden retriever. I add it to his food twice a month and the limp is gone. It worked . Maybe it will help your dog out too. Good luck.

Either that or ganja LOL. Seriously thanks for that advice. I have a Golden he's 8 and is a little stiff getting started. I will try the cod liver oil
half a baby aspirin should calm her down until Tuesday
15 years is a good life return the favor to her, you know what you need to do. A couple of us have had to do it this year but it was the the right thing to do for loyal companion. It is not easy and you will be emotional but ultimately the dog is no longer suffering. Sorry for being blunt but you need to hear it, childrens tylenol will releive the pain no adult dosages
Wow! Sorry to hear about your companion. I agree with half a baby asprin till you can get her normal meds on Tuesday. I hope she hangs in there. Good luck!
I understand. My dog is like my daughter!
anyone ever hear of bee stings relieving arthritus. I saw on the news a while back a guy use one bee sting to help his ankle recovery. he claimed it is good for arthritus too.im not saying to go do it to your dog but maybe research it a little and since your dog is in its last years it may be a suggestion worth looking into.
Are you sure it is arthritis and not something else? We had to put our dog down last Oct since she had a growth on her front shoulder. Turned out to be cancer. She was 11yrs. I hope it is just arthritis and the meds keep her comfortable.

Good Luck

get with your vet and get some rimadyl It helped my old girl get another comfortable 6 months.

Go to the Vet. Get the dog on Metacam. That stuff made my dog like a puppy again until he decided it was time to move on.
Go to a feed store and get some absorbine veterinary liniment Gel and rub it on it will help I use it on my english pointer and it helps.
