I went to Canyon Lake Friday to meet Fsh2win. We were going to exchange props and see what difference they would make to the boats. We had planned to meet at 1:30 in the afternoon, but since I had the day off I got there around 10:00. I wanted to go out for a little bit and see the lake and try to catch some smallmouth. I tryed the main lake, but the wind was blowing pretty hard so I headed up in the narrows. I found some semi calm water across from Beer Can. Third cast I caught my first fish in my new boat, about a 2 pound smallie. I thought at that point, life don't get much better. I'm fishing in a boat that's perfect for me and I just caught my favorite fish. To think it couldn't get any better I ended up with 7 smallies. I had to leave the fun and head back to the dock to meet up with Keith ( fsh2win ). We traded props and headed back out. What a difference the right prop will do. I picked up about 4 to 5 miles in speed, but the best thing that happened was it brought my RPM's down where they should be. Thanks keith for taking the time to let me use your prop. I also meet another couple on the water who were fly fishing. I watched him catch a few smallies on his fly rod, which looked like a real kick. It was great meeting you two, and good luck with the peacock bass. Keith and I pulled our boats just before dark, swapped props and he headed home. I stayed and ate my dinner on the ramp. I was amazed at the guys out there night fishing this time of year. I guess I need to get my night lights ready. I ended up leaving the lake around 8:30 and headed home. What a great day. I will be going back to Canyon Lake. Mitch

I guess you didn't get any tips from fsh2win, his first fish on his new boat was an 8'8"., I'm not sure he has caught one over a pound since then.

Mitch:

thanks again for letting me run your prop, although we werent there long together it was fun to talk w/ya and check out the "BHSW", not to be confused w/ KSW. I ran the 25 today after raising my motor 3/4", I had incorrectly measured it 5 months ago, I now use a level... The 23" ran w/ease, yet very high rpms, the 25" ran hard but with the a closer rpm range. I will let ya know in the next week or so. Thank again.

If I could get my lucky charm back into MY boat instead of that new champion, I would be able to stick some bigger fish. We did have a good year, you have to admit... not too many people get to see that many big fish in a lifetime!!
