New from Japan

The 22 lb 5 oz potential new world record bass caught by Manabu Kurita at lake Biawa in Japan on 2 July, may be disqualified. The ruling in Japan is the bass was caught near the Biawa bridge and by a dock. Sport fishing near bridges or docks is not allowed in Japan and considered closed areas. The IGFA has not recieved the application and Kurita couldn't apply if the fish was caught from a closed area, it would be an illegal catch. The rumor that Kurita caught the bass illegally with a bluegill is false he had a permit to fish with live bait. Wait and see how all this turns out, it doesn't look good :hitsfan:
