Has anyone heard of this fish....It could be a typo or we have a new World Record Bass.....I fished that lake many times when I lived up there and there has been rumors of this lake kicking out the new record.....Same Lake that Paul Duclos caught his fish several years ago....the 24 lber that he realeased without getting it weighed on certified scales.

Seems strange that with a date of 8/24 that there has been no mention of this anywhere.

these are line class records from what I read. he was using 12lb test

Line Class or Not.....It would be "All Tackle" World Record
Why wasn't this reported as a world record on ESPN or the Outdoor Life Network? Has the world record largemouth bass been broken? Line record or not, this would also be the world record if it is true. 8)
Anyone have any information on this 22 lb. 8 oz largemouth bass? Was this a new world record? 8)
thats imposible, we would know about it. It would be everywhere, bassmasters mag, infisherman, news paper, telivisioon, and on this web page.

The rumors are starting to come about this fish.....here is a quote from another forum.....

"Its not a new world record and I doubt it will be, its a PENDING world record. Theres a lot going on here I dont know all the details and all cause nobody that knows whats up wants to tell us. All I know is that it wasnt wieghed on a certified scale and the scale had 8 ounce incriments on it so it could have been a 22lb bass instead of a 22-8"

Record Fish

Just read an article in the FLW magazine, I think, that said this fellow weighed the fish with a certified Robo grip. Supposedly, his son was with him, and the witness was a shore camper. They do have a picture, but since the fish was not weighed on certified public scale with proper procedures, it is unlikely this fish will pre-empt the record. Even so, they are considering the line class record.
G
What is wrong with these people that catch these record or near record fish and do not have them weighed on certified scales. Anyone who bass fishes knows that the next certified world record bass will make them a multi-millionaire instantly. Also how could they approve a fish for a line class record but not an all tackle world record?
Maybe the guy was more concerned about the fish than the record. Also alot of people dont know the rules for catching a record.
G
Maybe the guy didnt care what he caught, he just caught a pretty big fish, and was happy with it.
I get one half that size its going on my wall certified scale or not

How would catching a world record fish make you an instant millioniar?

If I remember correctly only certain tackle companies offer money. And you have to have proof you used this stuff to catch the fish.
Unless he caught this on a zeco 33 with a mickeymouse rod I dont think he will be getting a trip to disneyland.
G
Are you kidding me?....This is only the pinnacle of the entire fishing industry.....Sixty years of waiting to accomplish this feat will get you an easy million or two even if you kill the fish....keep it alive somehow and you could make triple that.

And no you don't have to prove you caught it on any particular equipment or tackle....That’s impossible to prove!!! Endorsing this would be exactly like actors or athletes endorsing certain products that they never even used.....(That's probably true for damn near all products)

Prizes, endorsements and appearance fees are just a few of the ways that you will get your millions. Shit, they use to call it the "Million Dollar Fish" back in the seventies. The tackle manufactures are just sitting back waiting for this to happen and you better have a lawyer ready to keep all the ambulance chasers in line.

Delw, get out the swim baits...You could be the one!!!

I think I read that Johnny Morris at Bass Pro Shop would give you a million dollars if you caught the next world record bass and gave it to him alive for his Outdoor center in Missouri.
In this state it would be illegal to give the fish to someone else especially alive.

I know there was some companies , that offered some pretty good money if the bass was caught on a certain lure.

Swimbaits Ive thought about it but then I would have to have it stuffed, ;)

Illegal to keep and transport a record.

You could get a permit to keep the fish alive if it is to show to the public for ecucation purposes. (seminars) Millions!
What a bad picture, i see Del standing in front of a camera in his best (goin to the city meeting fancy duds) with tennis shoes on and a big hairy cheese eatin smile.
