Hello everyone. Newbie here.
I've been one of those lazy fisherman that likes to go up to the white mountains, put a couple salmon eggs on a hook, drink a beer or ten and catch a trout.
A very long time ago back in the stone ages my dad would take me out to the local lakes down south of Tucson and we'd fish for bluegill and lately I've been getting that itch to get back into fishing for something other than trout with salmon eggs. Found this site and started learning about drop-shotting and other techniques that I'll have to give a try. Went to one of the local stock tanks down here last week and wasn't catching diddly until I got bored, caught a grasshopper and stuck it on the hook and right after letting it hit the bottom of the pond I got a hit and fish. Cant tell you the last time I caught a sunfish. Pretty fun stuff.
Anyways, I'm one of those shore fisherman that doesn’t have no stinken boat, don’t have no stinken badge, but I do like to fish and drink a beer or two.
I'm off to learn more about How to Catch a Bass 101.

Since I am the first to reply, I will pass on my words of wisdom for a newbie on this site.
1st isn't fishing. It's to advise you that you better have tough skin and not cry easily. You may (probably will be ) hazed. Be careful who you pick on and choose your words carefully. Spelling skills aren't needed as it seems most of the people on this site are self taught.
2nd. Fishing. This site is a wealth of information about fishing. You will see many recommendations on what to put in your tackle box. I would suggest getting a no limit credit card.
3rd. Fishing from a boat. This site has regular posts for people looking for a back seater. When you see that post, reply as soon as possible as those empy seats fill fast. I have the privilege of being a "Sag ***". Those are manly men, who used to fish Saguaro on Mondays. If you were a newbie, or a back seater, The tradition was bringing the doughnuts for the group. At the gathering it was sharing techniques, and showing off the hawgs. Hanging out with those "Sag ****" really taught me a lot. This site will no doubt improve your skills.

Get yourself some waders, long rubber gloves, and a quality fecal matter detector and you should be able sift through the bs. There are some good guys on here that will help you out, but they also have a little fun too. Oh yeah - I see you are from Tucson. I hope this does not affect you, but the quota has already been exceeded for liberals from Tucson on this site, so if you are one, I am sorry.
Spidey - thanks for the advice.
I would like to think I have thick skin. I've been working in the construction field for a long time and if I didn't have thick skin I'd been long gone by now.
Lesson number one I learned a long time ago? Don't use a shitter right after you give somebody a hard time. Its a bitch trying to get out of one of those things with a pair of lineman's pliers and a hammer when somebody backs their truck up against the door.
"Sag ***"?
Ummmm. Not sure if I'm man enough to join that group.

No problem on wading through the fecal matter. I happen to be a world class fecal matter sorter. I build poop plants.

I would like to hereby claim that I am not a bleeding butt liberal from Tucson.
welcome to the site rainman6422
Welcome!

The most important thing to remember is to blame any and all problems on Illegals, Gays or liberals and you fit in just fine.

So in other words your not related to Elway?? Your welcomed on this site then!
Welcome aboard!

Sorry to hear about the Tucson residency, I myself am a recovering former resident.
Welcome aboard. The only advice that I'm going to give you is stay away from Champ201 and Booya. Those 2 are bad elements on this site. Hang on and enjoy the ride
I see a pattern developing here! A Spidey and a Bug Man, don't let them get together.
Welcome to the nut house we call the zone.............HANG ON DUDE!!!!!!!
Welcome and enjoy. Remember that it's a very narrow person who thinks that there is only "right" way to spell a word!
Good advice by all. Try not to take any criticism personally and you'll be just fine posting here.
