NM Hatch Chilies

I was in Globe yesterday and across the street from the FRY’S was a guy selling and roasting chilies. These are from Hatch NM. 25lb bag unroasted $28 roasted $32. If you have him roast you better be ready for a wait. It took my order 2 hrs, but it was worth it! He has mild, med, hot and extra hot. He will be there today and then again next Tuesday and Wednesday and possibly next weekend.

Dude, if you want authentic NM mexican food, go to Si Senor in Chandler. On Alma School between Chandler and Ray. The family has 2 other restaurants in NM...used to be 3 but they sold one.
I will have to try that sometime, long drive but might be worth it.

we goto manuels like once a week, I havent found better food than that yet.

Thanks
Delw

Where's that at? I may have to hit that one up......referrals mean a lot when it comes to good food.

Its on the north side of 56th ave and peoria. ( I think its 56th ) its right next to the car wash. in my opinion its hands down the best mexican food .

I forget what I order cant remember the name but I been eating it for 15 years LOL, Carneda picada or something like that April orders it for me.

Anthony gets a hamburger and they have the best fries in the state as well., I mean there not greasy not to soft or to hard just perfect.

fiday nights its good, sat nights its the best,

The only other place I really enjoy the food at as much as this is the pioneer in laughlin. April never wants to drive up there just for dinner, but to me it would be worth it just for the steak.

Sorry dude - I grew up in Globe, I'm a huge Mexican food snob.

Filibertos, Los Betos, Norbertos, Viva Burrito, etc are all the same bad restaurant under different names.

ive only heard of filliburtos none of the other names, what is globe little mexico or what>
Globe mexican food has a style all it's own - the only places you can come close to duplicating it are in the other small towns in the area (Los Hermanos in Superior for example), or other places where the same families own restaurants (La Casita in Show Low, etc).
El Encanto in Cavecreek/Carefree has good mexican food. Not the best, but good if you're heading back from bartlett and want a bite...

-edit-

Yes, hatch chili's are the best chili's out there. Delw - tried Manuels recently, not bad for the price! Have you tried Don Reubens on 43rd and Cactus? That place has damn good food for a bargin!

I can't remember what it's called but I used to make the drive from Stapley and Broadway in mesa just to go to this place in Globe. Hands down the best mexican food I've had in Arizona.

Maybe you know what I am talking about?

Manuels

Basstrix and Del,

Si Senor is pretty good in Chandler. There is another Manuels closer to Chandler for you Basstrix. I don't know the exact address, but is is on Broadway, just East of the I-10 overpass. It is on the South side of Broadway. Give it a try!
They also have one on bell roadaround central I forgot about that.
we thought about trying one of the other locations just for the heck of it some day.
