Thought I would post for all ya'll. I'll be at Rosey (or I'd be working) but if you guys are really that adimant(sp?) and want to do something about it. Or maybe you just like to get fired up on the internet: Jerk-it

Wake Up! Obama is Coming!

This is Your Big Chance to STOP Nationalized Health Care.

KFYI to Broadcast from Downtown

The Arizona chapter of Americans for Prosperity is joining allied Tea Party organizations this coming Monday, August 17th, at 7 am, for a protest in downtown Phoenix at the corner of Adams and 2nd Street, outside the Phoenix Convention Center.

President Barack Obama will address the Veterans of Foreign Wars at the Phoenix Convention Center that morning. We need to assemble peacefully outside the Convention Center and protest Obama, Congress, and the big insurance and drug companies who are supporting the Obama-Pelosi plan. We need to send them the following message:

HANDS OFF OUR HEALTH CARE!

Paid parking is available in lots all around the Convention Center. We strongly suggest arriving downtown by 6:00 am to park and walk to the rally point at Adams and 2nd Streets. Those Tea Partiers who need to get to work to pay taxes and support their families should arrive early, park in a farther lot (such as the one at Washington and 5th Street) and depart by about 8:00 am to go to work. The rest of us will stay until 9 am or later, if necessary. Please bring water and sunscreen/umbrella. Optional: blue balloons, medical smocks, and signs with large letters. (You guys come up with great signs, but some sign ideas are pasted below.)

KFYI radio is going to broadcast live from Tom’s Tavern, at the NE corner of Washington and Central. Coincidentally, the NE corner of Washington and Central is also where the pro-Obama group, Organizing for America, is planning to congregate… The AFP rally point is just around the corner, at Adams and 2nd, a five-minute walk from Tom’s Tavern.

Please reply to this email (or write to [email protected]) to let AFP Arizona know you’re coming. You can also sign up at www.arizonateaparty.com.

WHY THIS PROTEST IS IMPORTANT

This is the fight of a generation for American liberty. Now is the time to take a stand. Please do not sleep in on Monday morning!

--Persons from all political parties are welcome to attend. Many of you Tea Partiers are not partisan loyalists. You distrust both of the big parties and have watched in alarm during the past year as the national government--led first by Bush, Paulson, and Bernanke, and then by Obama, Geithner, and Bernanke--has taken over banks and automobile companies. You now see the grabbing hands of the national government coming for the health care industry, which makes up about one-seventh of the US economy.

--Many of you are worried about the new taxes that would be imposed on struggling families and businesses by the Obama-Pelosi national health insurance scheme. Mr. Obama and Congress have not yet explained how they will raise the hundreds of billions of dollars they would need to support the proposed “public option” of government health insurance when it proves to be highly inefficient and very expensive.

--Many of you understand that government has created the huge distortions in the current American health insurance market, and you are rightly concerned about a system that has railroaded tens of millions of Americans into becoming dependent upon third-party payers--your employers and your employer-provided insurers. You are rightly afraid you will lose coverage if you leave your job. And you are justifiably worried that the Obama-Pelosi plan would prod everyone into joining the biggest third-party insurance scheme of all--a government-run national health insurance plan.

--Many of the big insurance and drug companies are supporting and funding the Obama-Pelosi plan. They’re cutting deals with Big Government (no surprise there). The drug company lobby is dumping $150 million into the campaign to support ObamaCare.

--Many of you have watched the government and public employee unions destroy K-12 education, and therefore you have grave doubts about the government’s ability to efficiently run anything as complicated as a health insurance scheme. You have stood in line at the post office, and you don’t want to stand in line for a CAT scan, or a hip replacement, or dialysis. You are justifiably worried that a taxpayer-subsidized “public option” plan would not compete fairly, and that Fannie Med would soon crowd out private insurance options.

--Many of you Tea Partiers are motivated by pro-life concerns, and are worried that the taxpayer-subsidized public option might eventually steer people in the direction of abortion and assisted suicide. Some are concerned about the possibility that HR 3200 could give government-subsidized health insurance to illegal aliens. Others have noted that “national health care” does not appear anywhere in the enumerated powers of Congress listed in Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution.

Whatever your concerns with the Obama Plan, now is the time to let him hear your voices! We’ll see you Monday morning!

For Liberty,

--Tom

I have worked hard to build my business on cheap disposable labor! If this thing goes through, I won't be able to afford my lawn service and don't even talk about the cost of going out to dinner! The damn car wash will go up and I may have to do it myself. It will cost me a fortune to have my office cleaned at night. The gull of the working poor expecting to get affordable health care at my expense.
If you have no access to affordable insurance you should support the plan. If you have a government job or employed by a company with benefits, you should join the tea party.

Reform, not rationing! or a ration is better than none.
My doctor is my choice! or Any doctor is better than none.
ObamaCare = Long lines, poor quality - Better than not being able to get in line.
Waiting for health care = Death or Death is the only option for the working poor.
Should current health care benefits be taxed as part of your employment compensation?
You think health care is expensive now? By comparison the working poor need to pay as much as 50% of their income to get coverage vs the company paying 8%

Britons unite to defend health care amid US debate
Aug. 14, 2009 09:48 PM
Los Angeles Times

The groundswell of reaction against U.S. criticism of the NHS has offered a rare show of national unity in a country whose people are both puzzled and outraged over why their system, along with Canada's, has been cast as the boogeyman in the American health-care debate.

In addition to defending the NHS from conservative critics in the U.S., some in Britain have now gone on the offensive, expressing incredulity that the U.S. boasts of being a superpower while leaving tens of millions of its people uninsured.
“The United States lies between Costa Rica and Slovenia in the World Health Organization's ranking of health-care systems ... which puts them in 37th place,” Dr. Keith Hopcroft wrote in The Sun's commentary piece. “The U.K.? 18th. I rest my doctor's case.”

I would be more open to this if ANYONE could give me ONE thing the US government does better than the private sector, ONE.

And please do no give me the bullshit about Canada's health care being so much better. We could have universal healthcare here if we only paid a dollar a year for our national defense like Canada does(thanks to the US).

Hammer, I agree. I ask people to name one government run agency that turns a profit? The IRS is the only entity that profits, but in my opinion it is no more than a criminal syndicate. Remember what the IRS was created for. It was to pay for the war. The Gov't then said, Dam, look at all the money people send us we can't stop this!!

What a dumbass comment!!!: Jerk-it

So exactly which private sector companies is the US military competing with? NONE.

The US military is great at killing and blowing things up, but how good is the care at the VA smart ass?

Fire department would be another example......
I agree about the fire department. Of course the Fire department is 100% voluntary, made up of high character people.

The rest of the feds is nothing but fat ass, lazy stupid morons who could not get a job in the private sector.

OK, so Bando, you are saying that blackwater could compete AGAINST the fighting men and women of the United States armed forces.

Yeah that helps prove your point, or actually mine.

bando, what's the P&L statement for the US military looking like? How about for Blackwater? I know nothing about Blackwater, but I GUARANTEE you their revenue/expense ratio is exponentially larger than that of the US military.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the US Military. I have no problem with my tax $$ going towards our nation's defense, but seriously....you're actually trying to compare our military to a privately run business??? That's totally ludicrous.

To all who are and have served in the military, I thank you for your service!

OK,so if you are the expert, where is the funding going to come from? If you know you are smarter than Obama since he has NEVER ANSWERED THIS QUESTION.

And I am assuming that the Federal Fire crews are VOLUNTARY workers, meaning they choose to risk their lives, just like regular firefighters.

Unlike the idiots who work for the DMV, who would be in charge of any universal health care.

Ahh, that's one i wasn't aware of...I knew the USFS has fire crews but didn't know about the BLM.

So all of these services (defense, fire, police, etc) are not intended to turn a profit and cannot be self sustaining. I won't dispute how well they are or are not run, but I contend it is silly to try and compare them to privately run entities unless there is an equal and direct counterpart to said government agency.

I'm appalled by some of the clips being played on the news with people claiming they have a right to free healthcare. So what's next? The right to a 2500 sq-ft house with an Escalade and a Mercedes in the garage?

To destroy the problem, you have to get to the root of it. The first thing I want to know is who is writing the health reform legislation and why. Obama and the democrats are just propogating it. Some democrats are turning against it. Things I do know. Your reprensative or senator probably won't read the complete copy of the bill. They could care less as long as they get re-elected. They won't get re-elected unless they get special interest money for their campaign. If you go against the special interest they will replace you in the next election. They will donate large sums of money to the opposition while they destroy you through the media.
