September 2011 Recap

After going 5 years without being busted, the 8 pound pot has now been busted for a second time this year. Ted Hook of Sonoara Nissan drew his brother Allan, and Allan nailed a beautiful 8.8 pound largemouth bass in the tournament on Sunday September 19th 2011. They had 1st place and 1st place big bass. 2nd place fishing solo was Mac McDermott. 3rd went to Lannes Brock and Rick Johnson, and Bobbi McDermott fishing with Jim Cox finished 4th. Bob La Londe fishing solo had 2nd place big bass.

WELCOME NEW
CLUB SPONSORS

Lake Fork Trophy Lures
They just sent us a large box of their own original design baits. Some will be given away at the remaining tournaments of the season, and some will no doubt find their way into the infamous “grab bags” at the BBQ.

Yuma Tackle Company – A local soft plastics manufacturer has also committed to support the club with product through out 2012. The exact level of support will be determined by the company’s success. As a new startup the level of support available is limited. They plan to start offering baits for sale to the public in December or January.

Soliciting New Club Sponsors has been tough this year. A recent mailing to over 200 tackle manufacturers asking for their support resulted in more than 70 letters returned as undeliverable. Some have moved or joined with other companies, but many of them no longer exist. Please support those companies who support our club. Lets make sure they aren’t the ones with unopened returned letters next year.

If you have a suggestion for a company you think might be willing to support the future of fishing through support of Pro Am clubs like ours email their address to [email protected]. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a fishing business.
