Hey guys/gals, just got an email about this year's "Fishing Has No Boundaries" event. This is an organization that helps those who are disabled (age makes no difference) experience the thrill of fishing!!! Volunteers are needed to help at the event.

Where: Lake Pleasant County Regional Park, at the 10-lane boat ramp.

When: Oct. 11th & 12th, 2003, registration starting at 7 am.

Cost: $50 for the weekend. Sponsorships are available!

I wasn't able to help out last year due to the late notice of the event but I'll be there this year! I WON'T be the one helping them CATCH fish! :roll: :lol: But I can lend myself to other things. I look at it as a way to give back to a sport and to others the way you folks have given to and helped me. Put it on your calendar and we'll see you there!!!

They also need volunteers with pontoon boats, raffle items and it doesn't have to be fishing related. This is an excellant event. A chance to get involved in a very worthwhile cause. They also need people who are familiar with Lake Pleasant, to help the anglers.
My son and I volunteered last year, and found it very rewarding.

I just emailed Don for his wish list. I've been fortunate enough to fish this state since I was five years old. I'm turning 41 (without the help of Ned02) that weekend in October. Just do something, it makes a huge difference in the end! Fishing, always on my mind.

I'll definitely be there this year! Just thought it would be pretty neat if a bunch of us showed up as a group to lend our support. There is nothing like the satisfaction you get when you see happiness on people's faces and know you had a little part in it! Thanks for the responses! Hope to see some of you out there!

Here's the latest....

1st - September 5-7 at the outdoor expo. Need some people to man the FHNB booth. Must be able to do tricks such as speak, roll over and play dead. Seriously, just a few hours of your time to sit and hand out info and take names and walk around the expo a little!

2nd - The event itself - Friday is set up time if you would like to help out there. Saturday help is needed 1st thing in the morning in handing out shirts and fishing poles, serve bagels and coffee, help load the boats and help by going on the boat and baiting hooks or getting water and such. Anybody interested? Want to do it as a group? Oh ya, we be COOL! :roll: :lol:

Hey Queen Crawler, there is nothing more cathartic than to take a kid fishing (and NO I am NOT trying to "pick up" on you). I simply wish I could take a novice out on every trip. I do believe we are all talened in this respect. We love to see the joyous response of that newcomer to fishing when they catch a bass. The problem is, that weekend is the ABA championship! I will have to make up for my indifference to your cause some other time. I HAVE to fish in that tourney. Later...
