Hit patty with Gypsy from about 3 till dark. 2 trips in a row SKUNKED! Sometimes it's hard out there. Missed one on topwater. At least we were there for a reason, right as we started fishing there was a couple of guys broke down so we towed em in. Much better than being in the office. The weather was great and the lake was like glass the last couple of hours. We will get em going one of these days Gypsy.

Thats the attitude. Good karma also. Patty is a hit and miss lake like all lakes. Wish i was there instead of in the office.
That lake has been schooling us lately too! Your day is coming! Ours too, I hope...
Patty is hit or miss to a very unusual extent. Patterns disappear there at the blink of an eye. The bite turns on there for no apparent reason. It's a very inconsistent lake for me.
Howdy Frenchi79s < neighbor, I'm in SV AZ too.> , and et al.,

I was out at Patty too this past Sunday. A good bit of action in the shallows of the small coves. Mostly the large bluegils or the green sunfish hit the 1/32 oz. currly tailed jig right as soon as the jig made it into the water. Didn't even have time to close the bail on many casts before getting on that lovely tug.

The bass < all less than 11 inches > were also on the jig once it got 3 or more feet down from the shoreline. They were pretty light on the pickup so you'd have to realy line watch or keep your attention to the tap of the pickup. I did bring in a 15" channel cat using that techinque in the lagoon. That was only my second catfish ever that I connected with using a plastic bait.

The catfish on the ultralight rig was a hoot! It was strong enough to work the canoe about during the tussle.

So none of the bass that I caught were sizeable, all were pretty pale in color too. Every one of them was fun but came from down lower. I guess they were the smart ones as they were trying to hide from all that sunshine. Yeah, SPF 30 sure didn't cut it.

Hopefully your next run will be more fun!

Cheers!

You will be educated by Patty but once you become consistant ( Vu, Beltz, Love) you can fish anywhere. I will let you know when i get to that level, eta 2015. Keep a 3x5 notebook document time, season, area what was used, water clarity and temp. Fill out after each trip or even after each catch and map out your honey holes. This will be very valuable after a couple of years because the lake rotates through cycles yearly. That is why i am still the netbi*tch......I learn from others

Elway.

Did you miss the first post? Frenchi and I have spent about 12 hour to earn 4 bites and ZERO fish boated between us. I dont guess we are going to need many of those 3x5 cards at this rate!

I need to feel a fish so I am back to Parker Canyon this weekend. They might not be the quality of Patty but there will be a few fish caught. I am not giving up on Patty but I dont want to forget what a bite feels like. If Frenchi will have me again I will be back out there with him trying to figure them out. Maybe I need to start counting my piggy bank and buy some raffle tickets for the "Vu Experience".

My bad missed it, if both you guys split up periodically and fish with other anglers it will pay huge dividends compared to what you are doing now. After that you hook up again and teach each other what you saw and learned making your team a solid producer.

We have only fished together twice. Look I am neither discouraged or saddened by our last 2 trips. It happens that's why it's called fishing, not catching. A week ago today had about 12lbs in the boat in a couple hours. It's Patty and it's fishing. Got it good! As we say in Alabama. 2 words....... itsall..................Good.
frenchi79s, itsall good. i blank all the time. see you on the water dude.
Yup

Well heck yeah its frustrating but that is part of what keeps us coming back. I am headed out to Parker for a nice little night hike tonight. But you better believe that the next chance I have to backseat Patty I will be there! I know those things have a brain the size of a pea and I am not going to let them beat me that dern easy!

Tight lines this weekend guys!

Like Elway said if you can consistantly produce on Patty you can expect to do good anywhere in the country. Had a pro tell me that when i first started tourney fishing. As we've all seen this year Vu's flw win, Don and Dave's top 10 flw I believe finish, Loves outstanding win a couple of weeks ago, and so on and so on. It's humbling as hell sometimes but other times you hit it right. Like this time. 1/2 hour to go and my partner and myself figured we'd hit the marina and work it hard. We only had three dinks and where really trying hard to upgrade. We flipped the hell outa a patch of tullies and moved on. Then i hear net and Ghetto sticks a toad right where we were flippin. We just looked in amazement . We start flippin again and we hear net again, Ghetto again with another qaulity fish, same spot. Talk about humbling, that chit hurt. (Prefish benifit tourney). First 5 minutes partner sticks a 5lber. Then a 6lb 15minutes later. 7.8 lber came a half hour later. 19lbs in 1hour. Tournament the following week we could'nt find that pattern again, our best fish weighed 4.5 that slammed a swimbait, not the pattern as the week before. Fellas keep a good attitude and try and focus on yourself and what your doing and it'll come. Believe me I've gotten my ass kicked by her so many time I thinks she's laughing at me every time I have a bad day there.Good Luck and don't give up.

Week'nd Warrior, I remember that day! I had two fish in the livewell and needed the third... Got the third and culled with a 7lber. This was all in the last 5 mins of the tourney. (NEVER GIVE UP!!) I think we won the goon fish pot that day as well (2lb crappie). We've all had that happen to us one time or another...

If you can can flip there, you can flip anywhere (except Plez).
If you can bedfish there, you can bed fish anywhere.
If you can powerfish that lake, you can do it anywhere.

Launching is looking bad. There's only a foot of launch ramp left in the water. I haven't seen it this bad in a while. Its super shallow. I can't imagine anyone launching anything bigger than maybe a 17ft aluminum, and that's sketchy enough.
