Cordes Junction or Orme/Dugas road should be dark enough. Only about 1 hour north.
Perseids Meteor Shower
Without traveling to the rim east of Payson or west of Flagstaff, can someone recommend a spot that will get me out of the city lights? Someplace that is roughly an hours drive (give or take) from north Phoenix. I want to capture this years shower on film...

Sunset Point on the way to Cordes Junction would be good because there is nothing around there at all.

Any spots on Dugas road that would be good - also is it fairly flat? Most of the activity is going to be east/northeast from what I have been told...Yeah, I thought about that too, but I think you would still get a pretty good city glow from there.
yeah, if you turn right on the road there is a ADOT pit abouut 1 mile up the road, just acrass the first small bridge you come to. It will be on the left hand side. You should find a place to set a tripod somewhere in there.
