We fished Monday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. and it was very slow. We caught 6 crappie (4 trolling and 2 spooning) and 1 bass. At 12:34 I hooked a flathead and at 1 o'clock I got it up beside the boat. We have caught a 30 and 35 pounder before but this one dwarfed them. It measured 12 inches from one corner of the mouth to the other corner and 8 1/4 inches between the eyes. It was close to four foot long. When I stuck the scale in it's mouth it ripped free and the spoon poped out. It was the last fish of the day......Art

Great cat! What were you using for bait? My brother and I are heading up there on Thanksgiving morning to get some crappie and cats for the dinner table. (I'm not a big turkey fan.) A couple of questions. Is the lake pretty busy on that day? Should I get my minnows and water dogs the day before or will there be a place open? (This one kind of stupid but you never know). Thanks for the help.

Rosevelt Flathead

I wish I could have gotten a scale on him. I would guess 45 to 50 but I don't see them enough or at all to say. The flat was caught on a 3/16th ounce Luhr-Jensen spoon and Berkley 10/4 flamegreen Fireline in 29 feet of water. Usually there are quite a few people that camp out up here for Thanksgiving but I would not let it stop me from coming. I have trips booked for Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving so maybe I'll see you. I'm not sure about the bait stores so I would get it in advance.....Art
