Rosey - Night Fishing - Whats my plan?

Thinking about heading up to Rosey Sat night, primarily targeting Crappie, which I have never fished for before. I will be aboard a 25' pocket cruiser type boat with no trolling motor.

My plan was basically to find some submerged trees in around 40 feet of water (maybe near the mouth of a cove?), drop the anchor, drop the green light, and fish with a 2 hook rig consisting of a jig head with a gulp type minnow on the bottom and a snell a couple of feet up with a live minnow - all of this under a bobber about 12 feet down, fished on the outside edge of the lights.

Am I at all close?

Open to suggestions. I was thinking I would let one set of bait soak while I toss some TR worms or something for bass.

Also I have no crappie gear at all - any suggestions for lures/jig head sizing/jigs for rosey @ night would be appreciated!

sounds like a plan to me, although I usually catch'm 5-7 ft. I'm sure some of the AZCA guys will chime in and set you straight.

Dude I don't know shit about the crappie, but I can put you on alot of bass/ which should be fun for you and your family...

If your just trying to catch something hang out by school house with those minnows...find the drop-off that starts in 28ft and drop your minnows.....you'll get alot of something...bass, catfish, crappie, bluegill...

Your plan or Franklin's plan will work. Fish with 2 poles and alternate depths. You'll bang something. Stop by BPS and get some small jigs....ask for Bil. If he's not there, someone will be able to help. If BPS is too far, try fisherman's Choice on 35th ave / Thunderbird. Those guys can help you. Try the Hook-up at Plez if that's close. Those folks know it all too.

Good Luck. Let the Zoners know how you do.
