I had a trip on Saguaro today, and we did good. We caught 7 solid bass off of flats, 3 on jerkbaits and 4 on crankbaits. We also lost a real big fish on a crankbait. After a couple of hours we started pitching against the walls, which was a good choice. By alternating with a small compact light weight jig/pig that I make, and a Yamamoto skirted twin tail rigged on one of my heavier weedless heads, we were able to get 8 more good bass. Every fish on the walls hit on the initial drop before the bait touched botton. Most of our fish were between 2 1/2-3lbs, with a big fish of 4.6lbs. We also had several good hits by letting an 8'' Texas rigged lizard rigged weightless free fall very slowly down the walls, but I think the bass were just holding the tails. Good luck.....Joe

Sorry I missed you on the water Joe. We didn't get there until 2:45 PM. We took the new ride out for a test run. Great job on the catch today. I can't wait to open my stocking stuffer from my wife!! Matt

Saguaro

If you are on Saguaro this week, go up the river and pitch to the narrow cuts along the walls. Make sure the lure free falls as tight as possible to the wall. More times than not, a fast falling bait will trigger a reaction bite from a few good fish if you will stick to it. Merry Christmas.....Joe

I have to go with tempepops take. I too went to Saguaro this past Saturday - not a sniff. I am new to this forum and have only had my boat since August. Tried throwing up against the wall with free-falling plastics, crankbaits, drop-shot - zero...

However, I did talk to a couple guys after I got out of the water who nailed em. He said he got all 12 largemouth in 50 feet of water jigging spoons (3/4 oz.) with the biggest at 8-9 pounds. Guess I was fishing too shallow.

Looks like there is some good info to be had in this chat room.
