Senkos and " O " rings

1452 Views 16 Replies 13 Participants Last post by  Garrettt
I was at sag a few days ago and the wacky rig was the way to go. I lost a few senkos (maybe a pack) per one fish. Does anyone use O rings to attach their senkos? I was gonna buy a few but not sure what effect that will have and if i'll save a few senkos.

O-RING IS THE WAY TO GO. IT SAVES A LOT OF SENKOS. GO TO MCMASTER-CARR.COM YOU CAN SAVE A BUNCH OF $. I WAS USING AT ALAMO LAST WEEK AND NEVER LOST ONE. EVEN HANGING THEM UP IN THE TREES. THEY USELY SLIDE UP THE LINE WHEN YOU HOOK THE FISH.
i have caught upwards of 10-15 fish per senko and could probably kept using it had i not wanted a new one on there.
hate givin up a great secret, but those O rings are the only wat to WR a senko. you can straighten out a gammy before the O ring breaks.

Gonna have to start taking my lil girls rubberbands. lmao. She's gonna start hiding them soon. She has plenty to go around.
I also like using those small bands that were used for kids braces. Very strong and a few hundred in a pack from the dentist.
vu gave me that tip down in nogi we don't have a good fishing store to buy senkos or rings for them so i went to ace hardware and that did the trick ! p.s thx vu
BPS carries a wacky tool and ebay has a good tool too. I know locally places that specialize in seals and o-rings can save you some time if you are looking to purchase say 100 o-rings. Really I got a bag of 200 and doubt that I have used 20 of them in the last 2 years.

Usually what happens is when you hook a fish the oring in the middle of the Senko move up the fishing line away from the hook. You loss of Senkos is greatly reduced.

I been trying these hook out and having some good luck.

O-rings only way to go.
I've been using little pieces (around ¼") of clear aquarium type tubing stretched over pliers like in Ron's link. Seems to work as well as an O-Ring, and didn't cost anything.
Ive been using the "O" ring for years and I think it works great and it definetly saves senkos
Nice im gonna get some o rings from CVS! Thanks
