my thoughts go out to those who were hurt but last i check a red light means stop. all the wittness said that lady was going way to fast and ran the red light that caused the accident. fire truck had lights and sirens on all other traffic was stopped.

These folks need your prayers. They were headed to a fire and got hit. The Capt was ejected and is in critical condition at JCL. Hopefully everyone comes out of this ok.
Two people, including a Phoenix fire captain, are in critical condition and 12 others were injured after an eight-vehicle collision near Interstate 17 at Dunlap Avenue in Phoenix Monday evening.
A 49-year-old Phoenix Fire Department captain, a 20-plus-year veteran of the department, was transported to a local hospital where she underwent surgery for a serious head injury, said Detective James Holmes, a Phoenix police spokesman. A 23-year-old woman, the driver of a 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo sedan involved in the collision, also sustained critical injuries for which she was operated on.
