SPEEDING BULLET...

1791 Views 26 Replies 12 Participants Last post by  Joey
NEW RECORD, 11HRS and 14MIN...

he averaged around 58.04MPH and that includes locking through 9 Dams and re-fueling (the specific Bullet that Paul ran is capable of 105ish, and he was going to try to keep it under 90 unless he needed to make up time...)

652 miles in 674 minuets in a Bullet!!!

That is just flat out awesome. Once you take into consideration how long it takes to lock, you then realize He Was Smokin'
Straight up Chine Walking
NOT PAUL, he's one of the best "bassboat" drivers out there... now me, I can't even keep my lil ally on the pad...
Yeah seat time will fix that, I just figured at that speed for that long, there'd be some walking.

Gotta give it to him, incredible.
I can only imagine what your body would feel like after 11+ hrs. in a bass boat! Ouch!!!
Pretty cool tracking his progress on fastbass yesterday. People reporting from the river banks as he flew by. Even one report from the boat when they were 16 miles from the finish.
How much does it cost to insure a boat like this per month? Ghetto?
Paul is a badass.

I can't keep the bass cat from walking either :( gets around 67-69 and it starts
raise the plate
raise the plate
Seat time is the solution to my problem. Please do not give me advice when all of your experience is gained through reading a forum.

Raising a plate CAN help, but my inexperience with fast boats is the reason why I cannot handle it above 69mph.
drop the throttle you pus**!
Speed takes seat time. Mine starts walking about 60-65 depending on the load. I've been practicing at 65-70. It's all in the timing of short quick inputs to the wheel. If you go hammer down and it starts walking you have to slow down way too many mph to get it back under control and dieing at the lake is not cool.

What a smart ass! You running a 4 stroke 125 on yours? I agree it takes seat time but it helps to know a little. Joey, have you ever had someone take you out and show you how to drive out of them? That was the best thing i ever did when i got my boat. I dont even know how to do it anymore. I just do it scare my friends or show them how easy it is to drive out of. I dont have a bass cat but maybe one of the boys on here that does can give you some pointers or a demo ride, you'd be set.

I've asked a few guys to show me the ropes, and I know it takes time. I am willing to be patient and learn my boat.

Also, my jack plate is very close to the typical "perfect" spot for my boat.
Have they helped you out? You should be able to get your boat dialed in pretty quick. If not i can help you out. Like i said, i dont run a bass cat but i do run a 03 toon that are known walkers, but i wouldnt know.
Not yet, my truck was totalled 2 weeks ago, and I was at the delta last week. Just been to busy to get out at all...
