When you guys fish these spoons do you cast them out, let them sink, and then retrive them or do you verticle jig them? I'll be out on Friday try this out so any help would be great.

Drop em, then bring them up or down at the desired depth. I like quick snaps and it works for me , others like slow ups and downs and it works for them.
I like 1.5oz and the lightest being 1 oz., its a matter of taste.
Spooning is easy, If you can fish a drop-shot, you can spoon. I look for active fish on my graph, and drop the spoon down on them and start ripping the rod up and down. Some times you need to just twitch the rod and other times you need to violently rip the rod.

one of the most important things is to find shad that have fish real close by and just count your spoon down to the same depth as the fish in using different sweeps it can change sometimes to just doodling the spoons in the mud or getting it stuck in a tree and shake it for a while and rip it out of the tree to get a reaction strike spoons can load the boat good luck most of the time i just use a 3-4 foot sweep with my spoon fluttering about a foot belowthe fish it works for me
