Any of you guys ever had this problem or fixed it?

I tried searching the web for an answer - only found one place that mentioned this in detail. They sell a repair kit. Can a reasonably competent individual do this or should I be safe and take it to the shop?

I have a Bass Tracker Proteam 165 with 4 cylinder 40 HP Mercury outboard with Quicksilver 3000 trottle controller. The neutral button is stuck in.

Yes you can do it. If you know the safetyswitch is bad just go pick on up at a merc dealer here in town.

westside use performance marine talk to Sue they are just north of glendale ave and 67th ave.

East side temp marine.
most dealers will have them in stock.

neutral switch

I disassembled mine to see inside. It is basic and a fix if no parts are broken is easy.Could be loose and stuck on side of handle. Or call Sunland marine and ask Joseph about it.
