Tempe Town Lake questions

Took an afternoon trip to TTL yesterday about 4-6. Every couple of minutes you'd see a fish break the surface of the water. I'm wondering what kind of fish you think that was. The second question is what kind of method should you use in that situation? I'm guessing some sort of floating worm or crankbait. I had plastic worms, mealworms, and a small kastmaster spoon in my tacklebox at the time. Also, is it too early (still hot out) to be drop shotting for bass at this time? We were able to pick up a handful of bluegill, but no bass.

The fish you were seeing was more than likely carp. If you want to catch some of those stinky bastards get some bread and vanilla and make a dough ball squeeze it on a treble and float it out there. Now for the bass its hot yes but you can still catch em. I was there last weekend fishing the bridges and we caught a bunch. When the water is moving, fish on the backside of the pilings. BE patient when doing this because they are not as aggressive right now, you just need to piss em off. Once you do you'll more than likely catch more than one on a single piling. Good luck.
I have been there a few times in the past few weeks and ever time I got at least 1 bass, but it took some time. I was drop shotting btw.

This was my best night

I'm pretty new though so I'm sure others have done better.

Which bridge is best? I have only fished the Scottsdale/Rural Road bridge.

Hellbore - Yeah, I saw that the other day and you inspired me to get back to TTL! I'm now armed with yum garlic spray, but think I just need some time and practice. So you've been fishing from shore and at night? I'm gonna head back out there next Wed night at 7ish to give it another go.
