Carolina rig, put worm on hook with worm threader, troll very slow, bounce off bottem use 6lb test, hold on to pole. or crickhopper crank bait just off bottem. Good luck !
#4 & #6 panther martins........gold blade lures work great in mountain streams and lakes(color of water)...rainbow trout color also.........now you have to work for them
Stop at Hondah and get their hand made flies in the black/gold and light brown/gold.They are awsome at Big Lake. I perfer Cresent lake better but that is rainbow powerbait/chart flake mixed does well also. There is a hole about 35 yds due west from the dock at Cresent that holds the big ones.Dont be affraid of the weeds there.Good luck
Slow troll Crickhoppers, Bumblebugs, and even Z-Rays or Super Dupers.....I like to put a ¼oz split shot about 2 ft up the line on the crickhoppers and any other small rebel cranks to help get them down deeper. I have the best luck with the darker colors...IE: Black Crickhopper...seems to work the best for me.
See Love's post above and add wooly worms in olive drab, 1/4 oz Z-rays in gold w/red and rapalas (#3 & #5 brown trout and rainbow trout patterns) prefreably the Countdown type.
Vary your speeds constantly and make lots of circles and figure eight patterns. Stay close to the shore near dawn and dusk.
Last November, we were up at Big Lake trolling the 1" Kastmasters in gold & silver, and a friend caught a Cutthroat 2" shy of the state record ! The fish was 26" long and weighed just under 6lbs ! We also caught numerous other Cutts & Brookies ! It was a great trip !
