nice fish dude.
Those two rivers have some of the best fishing in this country. Just like any place it takes time on the water to learn it's secrets. April -May are very productive months and again in October- November. I've always liked the fact that your never sure what you going to catch. Target smallies, end up with a bunch of Sauger. Go for the Sauger at night and bring in Sheepshead or Cats. Thanks for the pic of back home.

no problem man,we had 30 + fish days between the three of us, man is it dead whe nthe water dropps though
That's when they open and close the lock & dams to get the barges thru. With enough time you would be able figure out where they go during both stages.

ya well im back home now wont be bac kthere till next summer
Just enough time to hone your skills a bit better. If you want a little more insight on the Miss. and/or lakes in the area, go to this site. lakelinks.com. Maps, lake info, and fishing reports on almost every lake for each state. Every once in awhile a few pics are thrown in. Minn. brags about being the land of 10,000 lakes, where in reality it only has just over 8. Wisc. has 15,081 to choose from and 92% of those have either lmb, smb or both.
ya,well my cousti nlive and own 4 acers is hastings so its awsome just going there, the river is nuts going 50 in fog on the river not knowin if a barge is there or not
Technically Minn has more lakes than WI. In Minn. a lake has to be greater than 5 acres, in WI it only has to be greater than an acre to be classifided as a lake.

SkeeterBoy what pool were you in? I do miss that place...
That was what I was told as a kid also. Then a few years back I found a website listing lakes for upper midwest states. On this site, it brought up the fact that a lot of the water in Minn. was just marshland and void of fish, so they didn't bother to list them. All I can say is that between the 2 states, one could fish a different lake every day of his life and barely make a dent. What part are you from, if I may ask.

idk the first pool id guess,we didnt deal with the locks,my cousins dont bass fish there strictly walleye fisherman,so i dropshotted and c rigged everygood area
I'm from Eau Claire, and my family has a cabin in Gordon, WI. We used to fish the Red Wing Dam and the Alma dam in the spring for eyes. We also ice fished the backwaters... Midwest bass where are you from? I used to fish daily when i was back there and general wouldn't fish the same lake with in a 2 week period.
Hey! Red wing was my favorite on the river. I'm from Athens, 23 miles west of Wausau. I have an ex-sis.-law that lives in E.C. Aunt and uncle in Menominee. Fished a few lakes in your area, Tainter, Long, Chetek Chain to name a few. Also many years ago, drag raced at Amber green. That dragway still running?
