just wondering about my current status with my fishing partner. no there's no fight/tiff anything like that he got a new boat and he wants to go out on his own. so my last couple of partners have been friends do you think that you get someone who is more business-wants to win? Just looking for opinions or maybe just to research what the guys might be looking at from me also :?
Lastly where would you start to look?

I had the same thing happen when I bought my boat. My partner and I just decided that it was OK to fish one tourney out of his, then the next out of mine. So far it works out just fine. He owns a Nitro and I own a Ranger, we have fished together for a long time. We got in the Nitro owners and the Ranger owners tourneys. As long as you have a good partner don't give up and look for another, try and sort out a similar deal with them.

That sucks.

Ive been through few partners, both them and I have boats.
you got to find someone that you feel comfortable to fish with bottom line.
you also need to find someone that wants to fish as hard as you do, and wants to win. (if thats what you want)

I like to fish alot and so does Mr. Bass. I go out there to eat donuts and win a tourny(or give it 110%) Mr. Bass Doesnt like donuts but he gives it 110% sometimes even 150%

I couldnt fish with someone who doesnt give it 110%, Hell I even took all the seats out of my boat so we dont get lazy(my self included).
I figure if I am going to spend money on a tourny I got to at least try to win it back. I could just fun fish for free.

Find someone with the same goals as you and go for it, wether you want to have fun or fish seriously.

I set a few people up on this board over the last few years with some partners they are still fishing together(sound like a dating service now).

I have met some pretty cool people on this board that I would fish with as well.

What I look for in a partner is a nice set of... Oops wrong board

Someone wanting to fish and fish hard.

Someone who has a morbid sick sence of humor like I do.

Someone who can make sure I am awake and ready to go on time

etc.

Good Luck

Also.
what do you mean he wants to go out on his own? most of the tournys in AZ are team tournys there are very very few pro ams.
is he going to fish these by himself?

Team tournys you can fish together.

I am planning on fishing Pro-ams but still sticking with the team tournys(cause thats all we have).

Hey Del, you forgot to mention the little bikini or pink thong as a prerequisite!

Someone that will give it all they have, and that has an open mind. Open to new spots, new presentations, baits etc...........
Too many fisherman get "caught up" in traditional ways, and I believe that's what sets people apart......................

I find fishing with with my partner is working out well. Kinda like my marraige. (While im the bread winner,my un-employed other half (Delw)if out pre-fishing for us). No seriously my job is m-f from 6am to 6pm and i dont have time to prefish the lakes before tournys. Del has flexability to be able to spend time on the lakes thru out the week. We both own our own boats(i have 3) so theres never an issue for whos boat. I find after several years of fishing its nice to sit back, relax, and fish while Del runs the trolling motor.hheheheh Picking a partner is never easy, everyone seems to have there own way of fishing, some like to get close to shore and flip the backs, others drag a c-rig or in jasonR `s case c-rigging a Rico. So finding someone with similar fishing habits is nice. Del has tought me ALOT of different syles with all have put fish in the boat. But in your search for a partner remember before commiting to a partner, make several phone calls to his house at 4:00am. If hes up and has already had a coke, you know hes a good partner. (even if he wont sell you any of his worm mold or give you a Del-Mart t-shirt). Never the less i couldnt ask for a better partner to fish with.....

Oh man I think I am going to cry

Bill I am going to tell Karen! Del what happened to the westside entries?
you guys forgot to mention a good partner is someone you can sing old cheesy songs with and remix to fit the fishing conditions.

Last trip it was Neil Diamond, Queen and some 80's band songs........
Jason
Jack, the westside entries had breast reduction surgery and some waxing might take time to heal.

Jason someone sings that in my boat they are going over board...

I good fishing partner understands you couldnt set the hook like a real man,and loose the fish at the boat that would have got you a check....
Ouch !

My hands better now about 80% kinda healed funny but it works
