For a few years the wife and I spend a weekend each fall touring the AZ wine country and attending their little festivals to sample the local wines, get away from the heat and enjoy the scenery. AZ has some pretty good local wines and good family's making them, but whats your favorites and why? Sonoita and Elgin are decent but there are some other close to them that are much better but little known. Of course Delw and Booyaa_az will say Boone's Farm is all ya need... Franklin will surely have his favorite also....

and no, MGD light is NOT a wine guys...:bong:

Bob, Farmers liquors down on Van Buren has some cheap wine and it is a nice area to take a tour "by armored car"
i'd say the other topics forum, when the liberals commence to protesting their political views!
Calaghan and Dos Cabez have been very consistent over the years. Dos Cabez makes a very good chard.
Merkin Vinyards/Cadeus Cellars. Maynard James Keenan from the band Tool owns the place. It is up in Cornville. Some killer red wines and I barely ever drink.

I was going to say that at some times AZBZ is the biggest winery in the state, but I won't...;);)

If you really like great wine, take a trip to Germany when the wine fest are happening in every village along the Mosel and Rhine river valley. And speaking of Boones Farm the Germans thought it was a Wonderbar idea to have a screw on top for the wine. we used to trade BF for just about any type of German wine. Piesporter....

The smell of that shit is enough to make me want to puke. I don't get how people can drink that crap. Former roomate used to drink some sort of japanese plum wine all the time. Nasty nasty stuff...

Akadoo was the last choice before payday and you where almost out of money. Used to pool our bucks to get drunk. Ah the good old days. One step up was a bottle of Tory.
A chardonnay is nice, a bordeaux is divine but there is nothing better than a bottle of Chateau Shitface around the campfire.
Bob give these guys a try. http://www.kokopelliwinery.com/ Not bad, have not been to the vineyard yet.

AMEN TO THAT BROTHER!!
Alcantara vineyard is up by Cadeus on the way to Jerome from I17. Great wines and the tour of the place is great. The verde flows right past the property. Haven't been to the few down south in the Elgin, sonoita area. If you head that way let me know what you think. I need to plan a road trip for the wife's bday.
