Yes fouled plugs will cause problems, also when you put the boysen reeds in you could have a bad one or they are not in correctly.

When you put the new reeds in did you rebuild the carbs also?

Why did you put the reeds in?

Did you readjust your timing?(when you replace reeds, you heed to readjust the carb timing) with out knowing what you all played with its hard to tell.

but if your fouling plugs chances are your reeds are not installed correctly and or one of your carbs is running rich.

dewl yes the carbs were rebuilt i had bruce dean rebuild everything it just takes awhile to get an apt. with him so a fouled plug would cause it to bog down and go fast for a while blow a correct rooster tail and bog down again loss the rooster tail with the rpms and when i stop the motor seems to be running smooth but when i go to move spots its starts up good but the motor shaking kinda rough should i replace ngk r plugs after onley 12 hours?? i hate to spend the money if i dont have because i just spent 6000 on it it will bog down from60+ full throttle to 45-50

If your haveng those kinda problems I wouldnt run it again or your going to be 6k into it again. if you are burning to lean you could blow the motor, If your burning to rich you can also cause some serious problems.

Never run a 2 stroke that isnt running properly at WOT, never run one at all for that matter.

Those little motors are not cheap to fix like a car motor.

Champ 204, I think I met you at the lake about a month ago. I was road testing a Xpress boat and when we came in you were tied up to the south dock in the marina. Your little girl was fishing off the dock. I would of told you then about your mechanic. I used him one time and that was enough. I hope things work out for you. Stay on top of what he's doing. Good luck. Bullet Head

bullet head yes that was me at pleasant did you buy that boat? what kinda problems have you had with bruce we have used him for years and never had a slight of a problem the only mechanic i have problems with is tempe marine for an example last motor of mine they did they did a lousy job because the motor was almost out of its warranty date so they built me a motor that would run for a short time i smoked the motor 6 months later @ 4500 rpms found out they only replaced 1 piston ring same old impeller same vro pump but said it was replaced they never even honed the cylinders

I only used him once, Took 10 days to do a water pump, charged almost 300.00 to do a water pump on a 50 Johnson and I did all the clean up work. I did buy the boat and I took it to Complete Marine to do a PM and they only charged me 300.00 dollors. They did a water pump, tune up, fixed the oil sending unit and changed the lower end oil and had it back in 3 days. As you know that was a 225 Yahama. I wish you luck and great fishing. Didn't you tell me at the dock that you were planning on fishing the Everstart and the Open. Those tournaments are coming soon. Better get that boat ready. You don't want to have problems during the tournament. Later. Mitch
