Found a great article in Bass & Walleye Boats. (this magazine replaced my Bass(guitar) player. Still not the Bassmaster, but it was more interesting that the guitar book. Anyway.
1. Clean your displays-Never wipe with a dry cloth. Use a soft cloth, soaking wet, if needed Ivory soap can be used. 2. Don't let any fish scents, sunscreen, or just about anything touch your screen. 3. Never press hard in one spot. If you have scratches or marks on your screens, mequiars mirror glaze plastic cleaner # 17 will work. A protectant cam be mequiars mirror glaze clear plastic polish no 10. 4. Inspect the plugs and sockets. Any corrosion can reduce contacts. If using a spray or cleaner, use only plastic friendly anti corrosion products. 5. Tug on all splices. Repair if they come apart. 6. Take digital voltmeter readings at power source and at power plug on unit the should be no more than 0.2 volts difference at unit 7. Look for any loose wires. 8. Check your transducers. Loose brackets, bad wires, etc. 9. check all hardware holding down your electronics.
