I see WON is having a team circuit here in the valley. They have seven tournaments scheduled. Should be interesting to see how they do? Since we have a habit of chasing new circuits out of town. They seem to be the same as ABA, All Star fish for %60 of your entry fee put up another $100 in options to get any money back. They all say %100 payback on options how do we know who is in and who is not. Anybody ever ask to see whats taken in and whats paid out on the options?

won team circuit

Maybe some of us should go up to tournament director and ask before a tournament starts. How many people are in Big fish option? And so on it seems to me the pay outs get smaller and smaller every year. Are less people getting into the options? Or is money not coming back to us the fisherman?

Ed, I understand what your saying .
But to be honest with ya I dont care( I do but I dont). I am going to fish it anyway wether they have a good payout or not,If its the tourny I want to fish on the lake I want to fish.

if people are worried about the payout then they should fish ones that have no options.

There is good money in putting on tourny's , most doing it are in it for the money, I only know of one that isnt in it for the money as much.

I agree with you ed. All of us need to ask for a full accounting of entry fees and payouts, options included. Its like you barely get your entry fees back for a top five finish. I got tired of it and stayed one time for the awards and wrote down all the payouts for all those in the money. Not options just the base. The tourney that claims their the best. You know the 80% payback. Well based on the number of boats and all I figured a 69% payback. These guys can make $70k to $100k a year off us working a couple days a week. Who's the winners?

I wouldn't want to put on a tournament circut for free and have to put up with all the whiners, complainers every week. These directors work hard, even have other full time jobs and still find the time to put on a tournament for us Bassers.Anyone out there want to put on a 100%/payback tourny, sign me up.Do it once and get a taste of ,"I'll never do that again for nothing".I never get in big fish cause I don't catch big fish. But I do get in mini t"s,and pro bucks, cause I fish for 1st place. Some people only get in big fish, cause they are on a big fish bite and don't get in the mini's.Some guys don't get in the $5 team goonfish/food option, but sit there and fill there faces with chilly and hotdogs during the weigh in,PLEASE!!.There are anglers that only fish one lake, and don't follow a circut. I guess we have to fish what/where we feel comfortable with.(blah blah blah)

I'm not sure what you mean when you say "we have a habit of chasing new circuits out of town". Circuits leave because of non-participation! As far as ABA is concerned, the payouts are posted EVERY tournament! Let me help you understand - ABA posts a "tournament registration sheet", from there you can see "who is in and who is not". As far as your last question, you don't have to "ask to see", just walk up and look, if you don't understand the tournament director will be very happy to explain.

PS - Monterey Bass and ABF posts all info the exact same way!!
