Sherwoodie, I've never tried catching yellows at night around lights. I do remember on Canyon one night in the early summer that I had my lights on and there were all sorts of baitfish on the surface around my boat. There were other bigger fish (I think they were either yellows or crappie or both) hitting on those baitfish, but I never tried to catch them. They aren't too hard to catch during the day. Yesterday, I found them around the 40-50 foot range, but some could be deeper. Most were 48-50 foot deep. Look for shad on the fishfinder, drop a spoon on top of them, and the yellows may not be far behind.
