I design landscape/pools. Most landscape companies sub it out to contractors that only do turf. I've been using az Turfmasters for years, they do great work and are competitive with pricing. Mary and Lisa are my contacts, if you call tell them Lucas from Sonoran Landesign sent you.
Are you sure you need curbing? Is the layout free-form or linear? For free form, you don't need a border as long as drainage is away from the turf. With straight lines you do need a border but remember there is also steel edging and paver borders which both look better than curbing imo and cost about the same for paver border, and less for steel edge.
If you have pets, ask them to use some zeolite for the in-fill. It's a natural clay product that absorbs and retains piss and lasts forever as long as it's in the sun. It's kinda like kitty litter.
Also remember it gets really hot and if you have windows that reflect the sun on to the turf it WILL melt it.
It really has come a long way..even since I've been here over the last 8 yrs. choose something that isn't too dark green and uniform in color..looks fake. You want lighter green with some of the brown thatch. Higher density product = more durable and holds up to traffic better.
