A good night with lots of minnows and shads circling the boat anchored @ 60' lots of dinks but we got 15 keepers from 2 1/2 -4lbs. It's getting better now than last month, hope everyone did good last night.

Cole's was tough. Lot's of dinks, lots of bait fish. Kept seeing marks at 50-55' over 65' but they weren't biting. Managed 5 in the cooler. I may hit the tires tonight. Evilmonkey ended up going with me. He caught the 1st (cat)fish. LOL!

Thats another reason for bringing someone along to have someone fishing while I "rest".

Also I was fishing. I had two poles out, I have the stamp, and my chum bag hanging down. Had bells on the poles and clicker drag on. I have caught some cats with this method of fishing ;-). Thats the good about catfishing, you can do it in your sleep.

She likes it when I bring home a nice catfish. I just read on Catfish1.com, it is an accepted way to catch catfish. Might even set a new state record some night.

Wife still has a day planned for me when I get home. We have to go to the dump, no garbage pick up at our house, and her business generates bags of trash. Then she always has something for me to do.
Wife hates it when I go all night, cause I move so slow the next day. It amazes me you guys that stay up all night and do it for two days in a row. Maybe when I retire I will get to go out for two or three nights and be able to sleep during the day.

Better. Got 15 between 2.5 and 4lbs.
10 of them were between grey light and dawn, so maybe the morning bite is going to take off yet this season.

Hey y'all, I'm new to the site and I'm planning on going up to Pleasant from Tucson either Thursday or Friday night to fish for stripers. Problem is, I've never fished for them before and I'm having a hard time finding reliable info on how to fish for them. I'm no rookie to fishing but any tips sure would help. I've been skunked before but I just don't want to make the 2 1/2 hour trip up there and wind up skunked because I didn't know what I was doing. Hopefully somebody might catch this and give out some valuable advice. Thanks!

I know others do it differently - but braided line with a 10-12# flouro leader. #2/0 octopus hook drop shot with a 1/8 ounce weight. Pull head and tail off of anchovy and drop it about 40 or 50 feet in 60 or 70 feet of water.

The dinks are usually shallower and will only bite smaller pieces of anchovy. Get good green lights and you should be able to bring in shad. When the school of stripers shows up you will know because you will start catching the bigger fish.

I have not had much luck so far this year so maybe someone else can help you with spots. I was slaying them last year with the above though.

Good luck guys! I'm headed to San Diego with two of my boys on Friday.
1.5 day for yellowtails and hopefully some tuna.
